[edit] Secret Characters

Siegfried!: This an alternate version of Siegfried, his look is that of the one Siegfried has during his "bad" ending. If you have played any of the other Soul Calibur games he looks exactly like the character Nightmare. On Soul Blade the two characters have no different attacks or combos.

To acquire him simply acquire all of Siegfired's weapons during Edge Master mode. To select him go past the edge of the selection list and he will be "hidden" in any mode except for Edge Master mode. He can not use Edge Master weapons either.

Sophitia!: An alternate version of Sophitia, her look is the same as what you see during the start of her ending. Being no armor over her clothes, Sophitia! has no difference in attacks or combos.

To acquire her simply acquire all of Sophitia's weapons during Edge Master mode. To select her go past the edge of the selection list and she will be "hidden" in any mode except for Edge Master mode. She can not use Edge Master weapons either.

Sophitia!!: Another alternate version of Sophitia, her look is the same as what you see during the opening video in the US version. She wears a white swim suit. Sophitia!! has no difference in attacks or combos.

To acquire her simply acquire all 70 weapons during Edge Master mode. To select her go past the edge of the selection list and she will be "hidden" in any mode except for Edge Master mode. She can not use Edge Master weapons either.

Soul Edge: He is the final character you fight during arcade mode and is unlockable by beating the game at least once with each standard character (starting characters), which is a total of ten times. You can find his icon between Misturugi's and Siegfried's icon. If you are a fan of Cervantes you are in luck because the two fight the same only Soul Edge has a few extra moves.

Although you can beat the game with the characters there is also another way. Have at leat 20 hours of play time to unlock him. This is for those that don't care for endings and just want to have battle with others. You can check your play time when in the records (within the options) in the upper-left hand side.

Seung Han Myong: Seung is a character that fights similar to Hwang except he has a few extra moves in is list. So far there are two ways of unlocking this character. One is by beating Arcade mode the **Tenth Time** with Hwang which would unlock Soul Edge. Your next time through for an **Eleventh Time** should be done with Seong Mi-na, this unlocks Seung Han Myong.

The other way means less battles but will probably take up more of your time. Unlcok Soul Edge by using the 20 hours method and then beat Arcade Mode with Hwang. Your next time should again be with Seong Mi-na.

[edit] Alternate Endings

All characters have two endings. The first one where you don't press any buttons for a specific action is usually more death filled endings and/or fighting involved. The second one can be triggered by inputting specific commands into the endings at correct times and these are usually oriented towards happy endings.

During the normal endings at the top or bottom of the screen a letter box appears and you must press that button for the special ending. If your screen's setup doesn't allow you to see the letter correctly you should go into the Options mode then into the "Adjust Screen" where you can try to fix your screen.

The commands you enter are as follows:

    Cervantes - B
    Hwang - A
    Li Long - See Below
    Mitsurugi - See Below
Seung Mina - Down, Up or Right+G
    Siegfried - B
Sophitia - Right, see below in "other"
    Taki - G
Voldo - Up, Down (repeatedly and quickly), see below in "other"

The reason that you see two characters with a "see below" instead of actual commands is because some require other specifications to activate the alternate endings.

Li Long: To see his alternate ending you must enter a total of 20 attack commands. Some of the commands that work are A, B, K, A+K, A+B+K, B+K, A+G, B+G. Be aware though that the buttons that can be made specific for doing a two or three command at once such as R2 for A+B+K only counts as 1 entry.

The thing with Li Long is that his letter box does not disappear so it's best to keep going until you see a difference in ending.

Mitsurugi: To see his second ending you must defeat a character known as Tanegashima. The battle is different than normal ones though because the battle happens during First Person Mode.

Other: Both Sophitia and Voldo each has another letter command during the primary ending but not for another ending. Sophitia's second command adds mist to the ending which doesn't allow you to see her very well. Voldo's second command allows you to switch the camera and see things from a different perspective.
